The increasing digitalisation of rail transport is creating new opportunities, but it is also bringing growing cybersecurity challenges. As part of InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin, an interactive networking event held on 24 September 2026 focused on secure infrastructures, resilient systems and trustworthy data processing. The event built on the work of the ERCI Cybersecurity Taskforce, which recognised the importance of cybersecurity and its innovation potential for the future European rail system already more than a decade ago.
Three inspiring keynote presentations opened the event, followed by a series of short pitches in which selected end users and solution providers shared insights into current challenges and innovative security solutions. In addition, the Enterprise Europe Network Berlin-Brandenburg provided information on the currently open TRUNSPORT funding call. Funding is available for projects that develop, test and validate innovative cybersecurity solutions aimed at strengthening the resilience and security preparedness of organisations across the transport sector.
The networking session that followed placed direct exchange between industry stakeholders at the centre of the programme. The event provided an ideal platform to connect needs with solutions, establish new contacts and explore potential collaborations in the field of cybersecurity for the rail sector.
Our sincere thanks go to the keynote speakers from Deutsche Bahn AG, the Berlin-Brandenburg IT security network it’s.bb e.V., and METIS CONFERENCES LTD, organiser of the Rail Cyber Resilience Summit (RCRS) 2026, which will take place in Tallinn on 20-21 October 2026.
