ERCI Online-Workshop | Testing the Track with Modern Means

November 9, 2022 @ 10:00 - 11:30

Innovative testing methods

In this webinar you will learn about testing the track with modern means.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS introduces to advanced inspection of catenary crimps and tracks by new generation of ultrasound inspection systems (e. g. SONIQ Rail Explorer developed in cooperation with Vossloh Rail). Moreover the participants get to know more about new developments in ultrasonic basic technology such as electronics, probe technology software and 3D Data visualisation by use of augmented reality. Finally Fraunhofer IKTS will end with an outlook to the requirements and possibilities for inspection of composite light weight train parts such as CRFP bogies.

In the presentation of AV-NDT, the probabilistic physical relationship within a modern testing system will be presented. And a modern approach how AI can help to lead to an secure infrastructure from material point of view. Non-destructive testing is an essential part of the safety and the reliability of infrastructure. Due to modern means this task can be done better than ever before. However, therefore it is essential to understand the relationships between the testing system itself and the testing task.
